Ethan sleeps in his crib!

Ethan finally slept in his crib for the first time last night!  He did really well....really it's just more of an inconvenience for me to have to walk to another room in the middle of the night to feed him.  Also, we don't have a chair in Ethan's room yet, so I have to go into the spare bedroom to feed him.  Luckily he only woke up once!  Also, when we put him in his crib to go to bed last night, he fell asleep with out crying AT ALL!  For those of you who have seen how hard he fights sleep, this is a major accomplishment!  He is also napping better so I think that helps him be a little less crabby.  Of course when he woke up in the morning, he still had to come lay in bed with mom and dad.  It's my favorite time of the day, he's such a happy little boy!  Ethan is also starting to recognize his bottle.  He whines and reaches for it, and gets mad if mom and dad aren't fast enough!  We're slowly getting the house cleaned and organized.  Luckily things weren't too dusty when we got back.  Also I had this irrational fear that our house would be infested with bugs when we got back....luckily that was not the case.  Newton is starting to readjust to life in SC.  He has a lot of energy since he doesn't have Hunter to wrestle around with.  Some people thought we were a little nuts to get Newton right before we had a baby, but turns out Newton is the best baby toy there is!  Ethan smiles and laughs at him and could watch him for hours.  Soon they will be best friends :)

Bye Uncle Gilby!

Uncle Gilby went back to Wisconsin today.  We will miss him and really appreciate him helping us out!  Ethan wants to crawl soooo badly!  When he's on his play mat he rolls onto his tummy and tries his very best to move.  His legs are strong enough, but I think he needs to work on his arm strength.  He actually scooted himself forward a few inches today.  He even grabs on to the mat to try and pull himself forward.  I think we're in for a whole lot of trouble when that boy starts moving.  Time to start baby proofing!!

Boring Monday

Today was entirely uneventful, so you'll have to excuse us for not having anything interesting to report.  Ethan had oatmeal again.  That kid is a little oinker :)  He actually whines if I don't feed him fast enough.  Zach took advantage of Gilby's last day here and the two of them worked on some things around the house.  I went to zumba with our neighbor tonight.  The room was so warm....it makes me jealous of your cool weather in Wisconsin.  It has been unbelievably humid here.  Zach did an expert job getting Ethan to sleep, although I was slightly disappointed that he was already in bed when I got home.  Time to relax a little before bed and maybe catch a bit of Dancing with the Stars.  Thanks mom for making me watch it last week--now I'm actually kind of interested.  Good night!

Ethan tries oatmeal

Today Ethan had his very first baby food....oatmeal!  He had so much fun eating it and playing with the spoon.  I'm excited to feed him again tomorrow.  He's getting to be such a big boy!  We all of Ethan's nursery furniture put together, so now it's just a matter of finding places for all of his other stuff.  I'll post pictures as we make more progress.  Ethan also experienced watching his first Packer game in SC with daddy.  He was sporting his Aaron Rodgers jersey and only got startled a few times when Zach yelled at the TV :)  He has been very fussy in the evenings lately, but today was a pretty good day.  He is not a very good sleeper, so lately we've been trying to teach him to put himself to sleep.  It's been a rough few days for both him and us, but he's doing much better than I had expected.  I'm sure he'll get the hang of it in no time.  We all miss everyone back home already...especially Newton.  He's very lonely without Hunter to play with.  Hope everyone had a great weekend and Go Pack!!
