Happy Halloween!

Last night we had a Halloween party at our house.  A few of our friends came over and we all dressed up.  Ethan dressed up as a monkey, Tanner was a bear, and another couple we know has an 11 month old son who also dressed up as a bear.  Zach was a toy soldier and I was a witch.  As I was getting dressed, the zipper on my dress completely broke, so I ended up having to wear a sweater, since the back of my dress was completely open!  Oh well....at least it was only $6 at Goodwill.  What's everyone else dressing up as???

Pumpkins

Today we went and bought some pumpkins.  We were going to go to the pumpkin patch, but our neighbors told us it wasn't worth the money.  Even still, the pumpkins here are very expensive.  I miss getting free ones from my grandparents! :)  

Ethan loves his puppy!

Thank goodness we got Newton when we did!  He is by far the best entertainment we have for Ethan.  No matter how fussy he is, Ethan ALWAYS smiles when he sees Newton.  Ethan has been getting up very early lately, so that kind of sucks.  Zach starts school on monday, so no more sleeping in for me!  At least he takes good naps now, so maybe I'll be able to get one in too.  Ethan is doing so well at learning to sit up.  We practice all the time and he'll be doing it all on his own in no time!  He can stay up for quite a while...but inevitably loses his balance and tips over....in fact he kind of banged his head on the floor a little when I was taking pictures.  Whoops!  I'm sure it won't be the last time though....

Two Videos!

I have two videos to post today!  This weekend our friends Steph and RB came to visit us.  We know them from college and now they live in Atlanta, so not too far away!  It was so awesome having them come visit, we had tons of fun!  We've been working on sitting with Ethan over the past few days, and he is getting so good at it!  He still is a little off balance sometimes, but getting better every day!

Triple play date

Today Ethan got to play with two other babies!  We had a play date with Tanner next door and a baby named Grant (one of our neighbors other friends).  All three were born within 20 days of each other!  The small baby, Grant was born May 4, Ethan the 10th and Tanner the 24th.  Ethan was the only one who can roll and kept trying to roll over on the other babies!  And since everything goes in his mouth, he also tried sucking on Tanner's hands.

Five months old!

I completely forgot that today was Ethan's five month birthday until my mom reminded me!  He is getting so big!  On friday we went to a bonfire at the neighbors house and Ethan and Tanner slept in the pack n play together.  They were so adorable and wearing matching pj's!  On Saturday Zach brewed his beer....he had a minor hops mishap, so we're hoping it will turn out ok.  Of course yesterday we celebrate a Brewer and Packer win!  Ethan celebrated being five months old by having some squash today.  I've made him both squash and sweet potatoes so far.  He hasn't eaten the sweet potatoes yet, but loves the squash.  I am really enjoying making his baby food....it is so easy with the food processor.  Hope you are all having better weather than we are, only rain in the foreseeable future for us!

Shopping with Tanner

Today Ethan went shopping with Tanner.  We went to the outlet mall to check out the Carters and Oshkosh B'Gosh outlets.  Ethan got his halloween costume, he's going to be a monkey (just for you, Kristyn)!  He also got a t-shirt and a onsie with a moose on it.  When we got home Ethan played at the park with Tanner.  I can't believe what a different baby he is now that he has been sleeping well.  And as a bonus for mom and dad, he has pretty consistently been going to bed at 6:30.  It's amazing to have the whole evening to ourselves....although about an hour or two after he goes to bed I kind of start to miss him.  Check back tomorrow for a video!

The nursery is complete!

We finally are finished with Ethan's nursery!  He really loves his crib and sleeps so well in it!  He's finally getting over his cold and back to his happy self.  He is still so frustrated that he can't crawl.  Every time we put him on his play mat he flips to his tummy and then just gets mad because he can't go anywhere!  We're going to have trouble on our hands real soon!

Sleepy baby

Last night Ethan slept through the night for the first time!  He slept from 8:30-6.  He was soaking wet when he woke up though, so we're going to have to figure out some sort of diaper situation if he continues to sleep like this!  We suspect he isn't feeling the greatest today.  He's all stuffy and his nose keeps running.  Poor baby :(  I'm not sure if he has a cold, but we think it may be the changing weather.  It went from 85 and humid to 70 in one day.  We took a super cute video of him eating yesterday, but I'm having trouble posting it.  Hopefully I can figure it out soon!

I know it's been a few days.....

So I know it has been a couple days since I last posted, sorry!  We haven't been doing anything terribly exciting, but somehow I have found myself very busy the last few days.  I'll make up for it by post lots of pictures!  Also it has been requested that we post a video of Ethan eating his cereal....we're taping it tonight, promise! On thursday Ethan had a play date with his friend Tanner.  They are the best of friends now, but the first two times that Ethan saw Tanner, he burst into tears!  It's going to be really fun to watch them play when the two of them start crawling.  It is finally nice out today so we were able to go outside and play ball with Newton.  Ethan sat in the swings at the park for the first time!  He's still a bit small though, and it's hard to have him sit in it without flopping forward :)  Zach is enjoying all the sports on TV today.  Hope everyone will be cheering on the Brewers and the Badgers today!
